Byron Bay 2009

Byron

Byron Bay prides itself on diversity, sustainability and creativity.  That makes it the perfect place for 'Byron Arts'.  The depth of talent in Byron is unmatched and these talented locals will provide the majority of the entertainment.

It's a town that has around 9000 full time residents and is famed for it's alternative sense of spirituality, it's love of yoga, organic food and great coffee. It is a community that loves music, that makes art, that dances on the beach to techno music or sits quietly in a pub and enjoys an acoustic gig by an original singer/songwriter. Byron is a covers band free zone. It prides itself on authenticity and originality. It is a cosmopolitan seaside village where billionaires rub shoulders with jugglers, where tibetan monks are spotted in op shops and people come to find the part of themselves that still knows how to play.

Nestled on the north coast of New South Wales approximately 2 hours drive south of Brisbane and a 40 minute drive south of the Gold Coast, the area offers a year round tropical paradise of beaches and rainforests with the average temperature in summer of 27 degrees. Byron Bay boasts some of the most spectacular swimmer, surfer and dolphin friendly beaches in Australia. Byron boasts a diverse and colourful community, an ageless anomoly left over from the peace, love, and brown rice of the Aquarius Festival some 20 years ago alongside more recent seachangers and soulseekers.
