Alison Pearl
Byron Arts Workshop Co-Ordinator
Possibly the most dynamic woman you will ever meet. Alison Pearl was a dancer with New York Ballet who has never stopped, her love of festivals and community has seen her as an integral piece of the connecting puzzle at nearly every world music festival in the country. Alison will be using her remarkable local knowledge base to construct a unique and engaging workshop program for BAMF.

David Hallet & the Stand Up
Poets
Nimbin's sharpest tongue, David is one of Australia’s premiere
performance poets. Performing poetry since the mid-70’s, David has
developed an innovative style that has seen him take out the Poetry Olympics
at the Festival of Sydney twice. For just under 2 decades David has championed
poetry in the Northern Rivers, spearheading Stand Up Poets and the long
running Writers at the Rails. |
Dean Jeffries
Local pin up boy of South American Ayahuaska Tours, Dean has championed nudity,
saved the whale and regularly communes with Shamans of the Amazon. His adventures
and life changing experiences are all documented on film. An extraordinary
man, living an extraordinary life. He doesn't look like getting a 'real job'
any time soon. |
Fatherhood Festival
It was the World's first Fatherhood Festival, based in Bangalow with patron
Jon Butler, celebrating family through music, performance, and community
engagement. Now in it's fifth year. Famous Dads talk about real issues. |
Georgina Tait
Mullumbimby High Work Experience student who came to a BAMF arts meeting and
said 'I want in'. Georgina is keen to become an event manager, and is now liasing
with community non profit groups to invite them to set up shop at BAMF |
Glenn Wright, Vitamin Records
Byron Arts Local Artist Co-Ordinator
Infamous for 10 years running the Harbourside Brasserie, head honcho of indy
record label, Vitamin Records, Glenn moved to Mullum bought a farm and started
growing avacados and having babies. His love of down to earth music is reflected
in his life choices. Glenn has programmed the local music at BAMF.

Hula Hines and The Blue Hulas
This is what
happens when some very saucy middle aged women rediscover their mojo
through the Hula. Beautiful, fun and poetic, these girls know how to
get a lot of action out of a little instrument. The boys back em on uke
with attitude. |
Jeff Dawson

The Eyes of the Echo. Jeff Dawson is at everything everywhere all of the
time. If he hasn't seen it and captured it on film, than it damn well hasn't
happened. |
Jimmy Willing
Imagine if Nick Cave lived in Lismore. He'd be just like Jimmy
Willing. Founding member of the legendary underground punk outfit Ragadoll,
Jimmy adds fire and brimstone to hillbilly punk. A puppeteer and a gentleman.
A champion of culture and cabaret throughout the Northern Rivers region.
Jimmy was carbon neutral before it was cool, rocking up to gigs in a horse
and cart. |

Twin Peaks couldn't have cast a more interesting and diverse character
than Josh Rushton. Fire Captian and equestrian, choreographer and artistic
visionary for years of Shearwater Wearable Arts, Josh is on board as our

Lismore Lantern Festival (Light N
Up)
LightnUp is a community based arts organisation located in Lismore,
just half an hour from Byron Bay. They create artwork inspired by light
and shadow with communities across Australia to tell their stories and
create celebration. Along with Woodford Folk Festival, The Lismore Lantern
Parade is one of their masterpieces!

Mandy Nolan
Stand Up Comedian, writer,
local personality and long time resident. Mandy Nolan jokes are so much
a part of the Byron Shire they have become part of the vernacular. A
champion of the arts and growing organic creative product in a regional
area, Mandy is producing the local arts content for BAMF. |

Paul Barrett and the Samba Blisstas
A community drumming workshop that has transformed the lives of
hundreds of people. These guys are the heart and soul of any event. Modeled
on South American samba rhythms with an Australian sense of larrikinism
and led by the rhythm king, Mr Paul Barrett.

Paul Spooner and the Byron Youth
Service
Director of the Byron Youth Service and community visionary. Paul
was responsible for the recent forum which contemplated the future
of Byron and brought the creative community into conversation with
developers. Organising the Artisan Markets at BAMF and programming
the Soapbox sessions at the Cafe tent.

The film focused organisation with an MO to foster, drive and promote the
development of an innovative, sustainable and vibrant screen industry
culture in the Northern Rivers. |
Spaghetti Circus
originating
from a project at Main Arm Primary School, this children's circus school
has become an institution and a creative inspiration. Spaghetti circus
continue to teach hundreds of children each year while producing spectacular
original stage shows with their highly skilled performance troupe. |
