The Byron Bay Arts and Music Festival returns to Belongil Fields, Byron Bay on 7 and 8 January 2009 after a 12 year hiatus.

Many Byron folk will remember the original Byron Arts Festival held at Belongil Fields with great fondness.  Since then the Byron arts scene has missed the opportunity to showcase their talent at a large event.  So the creator of the original has decided to relive his miss-spent youth and do it all over again!

He’s teamed up with the crew from the Falls Music & Arts festival and whole bunch of talented, crazy, enthusiastic locals to rally the arts community for a joyous, all-ages celebration of all the best arts and music that the region has to offer. It’s all about reveling-in and showcasing the real Byron in all its artistic glory.

Those that join us for this glorious event will find themselves immersed in a utopian environment of world-class music, comedy, writers’ workshops, yoga, drumming circles, interactive art installations, burlesque, and international cuisines.  And it’s all been backed up by some of the big names from the Falls Festival line up.

Proceeds from this year’s event go to support the Byron Youth Service.  A very important organisation in our area.
